The first step towards becoming a real estate agent is completing a 40 hour mandatory course approved by the Department of State. There are a few schools in the area that offer approved courses. Manfred Real Estate Learning Center, The Knowledge Network and The Brenner Real Estate School. The next step is to sign up on line for the NYS test. The test is given right here in Albany, NY. If you have a sponsoring broker before you take your test you will be able to start your career the moment you receive your notification in the mail! The next step would be to join the local Realtor Board and Multiple Listing Service. We are members of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors and MLS. They are located at 451 New Karner Road in Colonie. The last formality, and we think the most exciting is to join Exit Northway Realty!
